2004

In 2004, I decorated my sons room. I used the Thomas standees as wall hangings. They looked great. But, problem was, I had no standees for Christmas. I made some new ones this year. Now, plywood was getting expensive and I was looking for ways to cut down expenses. I used particle board for these. Used the same technique that I had for the Thomas standees but before I even started painting, I sealed the particle board completely. There’s a new Santa (getting into a chimney), Carolers, a Snowman and Two mice wrapping a cheese present. My wife didn’t like these so much. She said there was no theme. Well, they looked good to me and it was too much work to re-do. If you look on the roof you can see that the NOEL sign got a remodel this year. Since I was no longer using the Thomas Trains, I had a ton of rope light left over from the track. I stripped the NOEL of the mini-lights and replaced them with the rope light. It was a much cleaner look. I vowed that next year I would find a replacement for those messy icicle lights lining the yard.
